People have been posting some great photos from Saturday's first-ever NZ inter-league match between Wellington's Richter City and Auckland's Pirates.
It was pretty brutal – the pirates were a lot more physical, played a lot harder with the rules, and not infrequently outside it, with more than a few penalty box visits.
But, at the end of the day, they were by far the most experienced and best-skilled team, especially in how they used their blockers and supported their jammers, and well deserved their win!
Something has gone horribly wrong however when Auckland wears Canterbury colors for their team, although it certainly looks a lot hotter than Wellington's erm, invigorating purple-and-orange – not a color combo I wear by choice :). You can just see Sarah and I in one of the photos…
